The first Waldy 'Virtual wine tasting' to break the lockdown boredom took place last Thursday evening over Zoom hosted by Tom Doran, a Teddington local with a family-owned vineyard in South Africa.
35 budding Waldy wine connoisseurs eagerly waited to taste the multi award winning Cape Town vineyard's range of premium wines delivered (with a cheese selection from The Teddington Cheese, for those who requested).
Tom navigated us through each wine providing information about the grape varieties, winemaking techniques, stories from the vineyard and encouraged plenty of interaction from everybody.
There is no doubt he was an excellent and knowledgeable host who provided fantastic wines and a very enjoyable evening, hopefully to be repeated face to face when we are allowed !
