Welcome to the preview of the Waldy Challenge 2026.
As always the 2026 challenges will be an attempt to build on the successes and lessons from the previous year.
Points will be awarded for each month's challenge with achievement level points set by the Challenge Master and the coaching team. There are also monthly bonus points awarded for the fastest, fittest, strongest, highest - etc depending on the challenge.
There will be 11 2026 challenges:
January - Distance - clock up the miles to help you keep those new years resolutions.
February - Climbing - now the legs are warmed up it’s time to hit the hills.
March - Commitment - It’s all about getting out there as often as possible.
April - Longest ride - As it’s the height of the classic season it's about a long day in the saddle
May - Time trial - Take part in the Official Waldy TT or go it alone!
June - Bag the Climbs - How many local and not so local climbs can you manage.
July - TDF - Winning big requires riding far and climbing high
August - Navigation - Lets get out and see some scenic locations
September - Sprint - Who’s built their speed over the season.
October - Hill Climb - This year we’ll be competing in the Balfour-Halewood hill climb
November - Consistency - Last push to finish the season.
PLUS we have ongoing Waldy Challenge bonus points. These can be claimed anytime from January 1st to November 30th, 2026 and awarded for things such as doing your first sportive or encouraging a friend to join. These are claimed on an honour basis by adding them here.
To qualify rides must be uploaded to Starva and you’ll need to be a member of the Waldy Wheelers Strava club with your activities visible to any club member who requests to follow you.
Please ensure you have submitted your monthly points to the Challenge Master by midnight on the 1st of the following month.
Look out for details of the January challenge coming your way before the end of the year.
Happy New Year to one and all.
